I'm currently using a set of $20 el-cheapo tools from Supercheap and they are not too flash.

Hi John Your $20 set from super ??????? ebay etc will probably not be high speed steel so regardless of all else these will be a big improvement for holding an edge They also appear very similar to a set I am using and I have no major complaints . Dont turf the old set I have found these very handy when you want something differant I use one of these and grind to a shape I want :). Not bad for $4.00 One I did was for the internal chuck dovetail and although used often its not for long GREAT:2tsup::2tsup: Anyway enough for now regards and happy turning W.W Wally

I bought a roughing gouge and an oval skew not to bad.. the handles are very light and the first job was to make a good heavy handle but for the money not to bad
