This bloke seems a bit fair dinkum. I suspect he will find some design flaws as he goes though, anynoe tell him you have got to have earth returns in a car? and that's only the first one I thought of.

Well they aren't exactly the first: http://images.google.com.au/images?q=wooden+car
...but good luck to them! Sometimes the daftest ideas can provide the biggest leaps in technology.
Given that they can mould shipping pallets out of woodchips I don't see why something similar couldn't be done for car body parts with some degree of strength and reliability.
Earth returns can easily be achieved with a length of wire BTW...

The number of earths in a modern car is mind boggling, 14 alone under the bonnet of one I counted, because I had to clean every one.

Sounds fun!
The subject of earths is a little amusing for me, as I used to build car audio displays and recently bought some gear for a portable solar project. I made the mistake of mentioning what it was for and the sales guys freaked out and told me it simply wouldn't work in a wooden frame! I tried to explain that in fact you just need to run twin core cable to each component as you don't have a chassis to act as the return path, but they just couldn't quite grasp the concept...
