It's really disturbing footage. More like a giant spider than anything else. It's obviously not made for stealth though. I can't imagine one of those things creeping up on you with any degree of quiet.
The other thing that worries me about the robot is, what real purpose does it serve when it seems to require a human controller to be nearby at all times, to start, stop, fuel, correct and maintain it? How do the numbers of support personnel per dog, stack up against actual combat personnel? If it saves lives, if it can be programmed to carry a wounded soldier back to a set of GPS co-ordinates, or a precision weapon into a specific location, then I think it's a great idea. Has anyone heard of any specific military applications?
