Nebuchadnezar

The other night, I found a bottle in the cupboard which I don't remember buying. It was a cab/sauv from Grant Burge called Nebuchadnezar (I kid you not!), and I thought I would try it.
Well, after a glass or two with my dinner, I found it was so good that before I knew it, I had finished the bottle!
I would like to get some mkore of it, but I don't know where I bought it in the first place...

Grant Burge is one of my favorite wineries. Never had a bad drop from them, and the Meshach is really superb! I think Grant's grandfather was named Meshach.

The names come from the book of Daniel. King Nebuchadnezzar sacked Jerusalem and took captives back to Babylon - including Daniel and 3 of his friends. Nebbie renamed the friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were promoted to positions of authority. One of Nebbo's other advisors got jealous, and told the king that S, M & A did not worship the Babylonian gods. So King Neb had them thrown into a fiery furnace. But instead of burning up, he saw them and another man walking in the flames. So he called them to come out of the furnace. Nebuchadnezzar then decreed that no one was allowed to dis the god of S, M & A or else they would be cut into small pieces, and he put them back into positions of authority.

I think Grant named his flagship after his grandpa, and then kept with the theme for the other top wines.

He also has a beautiful wine called Holy Trinity, which is less expensive (though not cheap) and really fantastic.

When I first read your message, I thought you were referring to a bottle size called a Nebuchadnezar which has a capacity of 15 litres.
When you said you drank the whole bottle yourself I realised I was wrong :D

[Not sure if anyone other than champagne makers used bottles this big]
