If anyone is considering building their own blower/impleller using these plans, just take note of these warnings from Bill Pentz's (http://cnets.net/~eclectic/woodworking/cyclone/Equipment.cfm#Fans) site in the USA:

Caution
It is important to be aware that when you have an impeller spinning at near 60 revolutions PER SECOND inside that housing, if something were to go wrong, incredible forces can suddenly appear that were not anticipated by the builder of the housing. Therefore we recommend that you consider our new all-steel, all-welded-construction blower housing.

AND

Blower Cautions
Although dust collection blowers are fairly simple, as many hobbyists have found out, making your own can be dangerous! With 20,000 pounds or more of force, making a mistake in building a blower or using an unbalanced impeller can result in catastrophe or at best a poorly performing blower.

An impeller spins as fast as a saw blade and is a whole lot larger, so can be much more dangerous! Even just a little warped or out of balance condition can ruin motor bearings and potentially cause an impeller to expode. That is why I strongly recommend buying a professionally made and carefully balanced impeller.

Food for though.
