This is a birthday present for my daughter-in-law.
Made from some offcuts and bits left from a batch of cutting boards as a result the pieces were already glued up in strips, so the end grain joins line up
instead of the overlapping long grain glue joins. To provide some extra mechanical strength I made a brass ring for the top.
The wood is silky oak, walnut, jarrah. Finished with shellac and EEE-ultra-shine.
Mechanism is crush grind.
