Can anyone suggest a simple (read inexpensive) jig/template to mortice door hinges? I can mortice the door itself using a simple template I made, but morticing the door jamb is not so obvious, including an effective way to keep the template in place.

I'm anticipating installing just one door so can't really justify an expensive bells and whistles product.

Just an addition to the above, use double sided carpet tape (from bunnies or the local hardware). The double sided tape from your newsagent fails to stick like any kind of sh... regardless of blanket!

Thanks for the feedback. I'll get some doube-ided tape from Bunnies. Does it matter what brand of sh.. I use ? :)

Here's another thread with my reply to oxbow's trimmer router question for hinge checking you might want to check out.
