Pressure pot

I would like to start playing with my new pressure pot. But,I cannot remove the paint take up tube from the inside of the lid.
It has a thread, so,should screw out,but will not budge. I think that it may also be glued in place.

What have other people done?. Do you just cut the tube off up close to the lid.

They are certainly well glued in, took a lot off effort to get mine to unscrew. In fact I twisted the pipe before it stared to unscrew and even once I got it started, it was still tight the whole way.

Terry, I took to mine with a cutting blade in my 4" grinder, that took care of the problem real quick. Then changed blade to grind the sharp edges off, now no problem. Cheers, Robert.

Yes Bob, I think that I agree with you. Although when you cut it off you can not then spray with it.
DJ, I do not think that I have the strength to unscrew it.

Terry, could you photo that troublesome spot so we can see what you mean. Dumb suggestion here maybe, but does penetrene help??? Also, if it is LockTite on it, Use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat up the area then undo it, but if it is that plastic type stuff they use i don't know what to do?!!?:?:)Amos

Terry, I have left a short stub behind which would be enough to get a good grip on if you ever wanted to use it for for spraying, just replace the tube. Heat might be the answer but you would be wise to remove the O ring first just as a precaution rather than risk damaging it. Hope this helps. Cheers Robert.

How about heating and the cooling suddenly?
Or perhaps just heating and the unscrewing.

I must have been one of the lucky ones mine came out easy.

For the hard ones I recommend the heating and cooling method of breaking the glue or just cut it off as you will never use it for paint again

Hi Amos, here is a photo that you asked for on the troublesome pipe.
This pipe goes to the bottom of the pot to suck up paint,but it interfers with the space to place your blanks.
Will take Robert's advice and tust cut it off.
As Sam said , it will never be used to spray paint.

Thanks for the photo Terry, I think I purchased a similar pot some time ago, but haven't had a chance to get at it yet, your experience will help when i get down to it, thanks. Amos:)
