I got asked to photograph the local impro theatre (http://www.impro.com.au/) here in Canberra last year. Although there was no $$ involved, I try and approach shoots as though I am a professional (which I am, just not in photography). So try and get the right lighting, talk with the crew, etc. It was a great night and I took lots of photos.

Since then, I've wanted to try out getting a book made. Locally, I've heard good things about the local group, Momento (http://www.momento.com.au/default.asp), but the price has certainly put me off. I was about to try the basic offering at Officeworks (http://www.officeworks.com.au/owbd/b2c/init.do), but then did a little scouting and decided on Blurb (http://www.blurb.com/).

To use blurb, you download their Java app to create the proprietary book format file, which is uploaded to them over the internet. They print it somewhere on the Earth (mine had Swiss postage!) and post the book back. Trying them out, I just got one book printed in hardback, given the nice price and the good peso at the moment. I just got the book back and I must admit it really looks nice. 40 pages or so.
