G'day all,
Sorry, yet another tree ID thread to go with all the others going round.
Planted this eucalypt about 15 years ago - was given to me with no idea which it was.
It died in a severe drought a couple of years back and have only got round to looking at it recently.
It remained standing, but has been out in the bush since and it seems to have been munched by a few critters and was fairly cracked.
General shape has a very weeping habit - doesn't seem to grow very big - this one must have been about 10m tall.
Flowers are cream.
Bark quite pale, very fissured and fairly soft.
Wood fairly hard.
Leaves, as can be seen in the pic are quite long and narrow.
Thought the wood would be quite bland - was pleasantly surprised when I tried a piece for a looksee.
First pic is before oiling, 2nd is after one coat of BLO soaked in.
What do you reckon?
