I want to make some cutlery holders, like a length of 25 x 25 with angled slots to put the knives in and wider slots for spoon, forks etc.
I used to have some and the stuff they were coated in felt like suede. I protected my fine cutlery from scratches.
Is it available in Australia?
TIA

Wolffie, the last time I was in Barnes in Richmond Vic I noticed they had a whole stand there with different colours flock. From memory they had different size bags, but didn't take too much notice as I had no use for it at the time.

Perhaps look up their web site (http://www.barnesonline.com.au/product.asp?strProdFamily=Flocking)?

I'm not 100% sure but I have a feeling that Spotlight also have it in their craft section.

Wolffie,
I get my flock from www.donjer.com (http://www.donjer.com) in the USA.

Thank you Rhys
The website says they cannot ship the adhesive outside USA.
What do you use instead?

Thanks Phil
Looks like the Sydney stote is the only one who sells i. They fleece you in shipping.
Pity, I really wanted it.

Wolfie, the local Carbatec here in Canberra has flocking and coloured glue so don't think it would be just the Sydney store stocking it.

Wolffie,

Brisbane is the importer and distributer of all the CT stock..... wonder why they don't sell it?

Wolffie,
We stock Black Flock Fibres in 100 gram bag. You can just use a black aerosol spray for the adhesive. Send us a private email for pricing details, and postage, etc.

I rang Brissy and asked
The answer, by some woman I could barely understand (I had to SPELL flocking 3 times ) was:
"I don't know why we don't sell it, the other stores are franchise and we cannot control what they sell"!!!
Strange that ALL the franchise stores sell it but NOT the main shop.

Wolffie,
I use standard PVA Glue which I colour by the addition of a small portion of poster paint. This then means that any place where the flock is a little thin the background colour blends in. I apply it with a 10mm flat section artists brush with a primer coat first which tacks off, and then give second full coat into which I tip the flock and give it a good shake around. It pays to tap the underside of the article to get rid of the loose flock and then add more and shake it around again. This stops the flock from bridging across the glued surface and preventing a good spread.
