Was in Mitre 10 Mt Gravatt yesterday, and they are clearing all their imperial bolt and coachscrew stock- the kind of stuff you used to be able to buy by the each or pound, and now comes in frustratingly sized "convenience" packets (who has ever needed 5 screws i ask??)
Bags of 20-50, zinc and gal up to 5", and sized from 1/4 to 1/2"+ bolts, dome head timber bolts (i know thats not the right name, but the ones with the square section under the dome head) and coach screws, all running out the door. Upstairs on the clearance table. Got myself 30 3"x1/4 and 40 2"x1/4, for the grand sum of $4.50. Cant go wrong!

We call them carriage bolts here. They are usually used with square nuts rather than hex ones. :?
