wheelinround 25th July 2008, 04:35 PM Woodlee has been trying to help me ID these alloy scrap bits I picked up FOC yesterday just e-mailed him photo's.
The numbers on the largest block is 212X145X75 No ON IT IS 251844
medium block has sticker with A12058 = AMS = QQA250/11 IS 175X93X51
Small block no No's is 145x40x70
Would appreciate any help regarding quality and possible use strength etc.

Cliff Rogers 25th July 2008, 05:00 PM I'm fairly sure that it isn't timber but.... you may be able to make a pen out of it any way. :D

Considering its in the Metal work section I guess not Cliff and as I do not make pens there's no chance
If anythings left over LOML can have a piece to make a pen though:2tsup:
BobL 25th July 2008, 06:46 PM Put AMS-QQ-A250/11 into Google and you will get some sort of info.
It looks like either a marine or aircraft grade Ally alloy.
