G'day all, new to the forum and have a few pics to share.
Tassie timbers only, legs were reclaimed from some tas oak fence droppers.

Caveman, I thought "droppers" were the vertical wire twists that hold fence wire at a set distance horizontally. Have I got the right concept? Gee, you blokes must have too much wood if you're using it for that :)

That'a a very nice desk. Is that Myrtle?
Ron, as I understand it, droppers can be wood, iron or wire, but they hold the fence wires apart as you suggest.

Hi guys,
yep - droppers made of Tassie oak... I built a chook house a few years ago from sawn oak - just have a wee bit lying about. :biggrin2:
Top is red myrtle, lid trim and box in blackwood and the frame from the Tas oak droppers.
Finished with a light satin varnish, burnished with 0000 steel wool and buffed with organoil wax.
Was destined for my eldest daughters bedroom, but re-assigned by SWMBO and now is a hall table.
