Does anyone know of sites that have clip art or icons with a woodworking theme that can be downloaded? Thanks, Alex

Alex

I have been searching for woodworking clip art for years. I don't think it exhists. For that matter I don't think the clip art world knows that there is such a thing as woodworkers, turners, carvers, etc. There seems to be a bit of stuff around for tools but that is about as far as it goes. Usually on clipart cd's.

If you want it, my suggestion to you is to make it yourself. Use a scanner and go through magazines, old books, photos, etc. and start your own library.

I have produced the national woodworkers calendar and Source Book for 6 years now, it has lots of graphics, comics, etc. most of which have been painstakingly collected or drawn/modified by me over the years. I guard them all jealously. Maybe one day I will put a few pages of them onto the web.

If you find a site I would love to know. I am also constantly on the lookout for a source of woodies jokes, comics, etc. Here is an example of joke with comic which has been modified and added to: http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/Forum10/HTML/000003.html

Just a thought. If anyone has woodies clipart they would like to put into public domain then you could email it to me as a .jpg or .gif and I will put a page onto the web site for their display and download.

Thanks Neil, I'll have to get busy with the scanner when the office girl's not on it.

It seems there are some graphics at http://www.angelfire.com/ga/stevesuzy/ Unfortunately, the browser here at work tells me that it is an inappropriate site. Someone else might like to have a look and download if they are any good. (or if they are REALLY inappropriate)

Gooday you lot.

Found this link on another BB. I had a quick look and it is not bad. As with all things Microsoft you have to muck around a bit but it is worth it.

Visited the site your url was wrong so I changed it. This one will get you directly into the woodworking desktop themes page: www.angelfire.com/ga/stevesuzy/P5.html (http://www.angelfire.com/ga/stevesuzy/P5.html) you may find that it will no longer be an inappropriate site.
