With sash clamps being the price that they are, does anyone have a design for homemade sash clamps using some sort of timber and peg arrangement?

Dunno about pegs - I suppose you could use some sort of paired wedge arrangement, but if you can get hold of a wood threading kit, you can make somethine like this:

The 'exploded' view should illustrate the construction.

Thanks guys- they look like good projects.

I knocked up something just now which seems to work quite well- the only downside I can see so far is that you do have to mess around planing blocks so that they are just oversize enough to hammer in between the peg- but hey if you can save a few hundred and it does the job, why not.
