Hello All ,
I'm Peter .I'm a long time wood worker and occasional metal worker .Some experience of bronze casting and patternmaking ,I have a small foundry and do the odd pour .I weld when needed .

Wood wise ,I'm a carpenter who occasionally does shop work .The current hobby is building a sawn frame 34 foot cutter ....which is not getting worked on as much at the moment as it should .Another few months before I can get back to it .

The other fascination at the moment is biodiesel .I'm in the process of building a small shed and a processor to make the stuff .Preferably of good quality .

I live in the Tweed , about 140 km South of Brisbane ,up in the green hills .:)

good to have another NSW nth coaster, nice part of the world you're at
looking forward to picking your brain about bronze pours,

might as well start now,
did you build your own furnace? and what type of casting?, sand, lost wax?

Yep ,built the furnace ,I can post a few photos if you'd like .Mainly manganese bronze and greensand .I'm happy to have my brain picked about it .....is this the right part of the forum for this kind of stuff or should I go down to the hot metal guys ?:)

G'day, Peter, and welcome aboard.

My backyard foundry is another of my Works-In-(non)Progress. By all means, post the good stuff (with pictures, please) in the Metal Work forum.

(Might be in the boating section already, Ed.)

Joe
