I don't know, but it must be worth a pretty penny to have such a sweet litle house made for it!

The finished box, well nearly finished, it's had a coat of cellulose sanding sealer plus two coats of Danish oil every coat except the last coat rubbed back with 0000 wire wool. A couple more coats on the outside should see it finished.

What it looks like inside. A pocket has been added to put the guarantee instruction and the paperwork showing authenticity of limited edition #22 of 300.

The final touch after a couple more coats of danish oil might be to stick this on the inside of the lid, I can't quite make my mind up about it.

Very classey LN, I think you should have went to 000000 steel wool though, I find 0000 a bit course.

Lord N,

So did you use that lovely edge plane in the construction of the box? Some of those spiral shavings look like the type that would be produced.

It's just occurred to me that the wood type in my little tool box might not be mahogany. Yes the top and bottom are ABW most definately but the rest???
This is the finished box

and this is what it was made from

I had six of those chairs and a large round table, so no shortage of waste to make it from

Perhaps it is a mahogany type, I don't know, It's certainly not teak as most outside garden furniture is advertised as being made of. :(
