I am a late beginner in the woodwork arena but am starting to amass an impressive collection of tools. I would like to try building a doll's house (now that I have my new jig saw) and need to know where to obtain detailed step by step plans. The pattern does not need to be full size as I am happy working to scale. Would appreciate any help at all.

Don't know if this will help but give it a whirl. I just tried going to the site, didn't work this time, hope it works for you.

Gooday.

Jenny, the only sites I turned up were all pay for plans. However I did find a Bulletin Board all about making dolls houses and ALL the accs related to miniatures.

Let us know how you go.

Hi Jenny

Try this link it is another one to the same site as the one Rod put on which unfortunately no longer seems to work.

This one does I have tried it. The Woodchuck Canuck (http://www3.nf.sympatico.ca/jim.barry/myfavoritelinks.htm) There are a couple of sites on there which sell plans. Could be some freebies but didn't get a good look.

Hope this is of some help to you.

To and Ubeaut

thanks for the tips. I found a photo of the design I want which is enough for me to draw out a pattern. As for the construction ...well it will be a matter of 'step 1, oops, undo, step 1, step 2, oops, undo etc etc. They say you learn by trial and error!
I have taught myself bricklaying (built BBQ and mail box), tiling (85 sq mtr slate and ceramic floors) and fully paved around a 12 mtr inground pool. I am not going to let a little doll's house defeat me. Ciao

Go Jenny, go!!! Give 'em hell girl.

Sounds like you've got the right stuff to make it work. Any problems let us know and we will se what we can do to help.

Good luck with it. I guess the next project after that will be dolls house furniture.
