Howdy,

I have just added a custom search feature to my website - you can see at the top of the left column.
www.storerboatplans.com (http://www.storerboatplans.com)

Also there is an index to this forum which is updated occasionally
(Click here for an Index to my forum (http://boats-storerdesign.blogspot.com/2009/03/table-of-contents-for-michael-storer_31.html))

You can go there to find things more quickly.

The search also scans
my blog
and bitingmidge/s PDR, Eureka and Goat Island Skiff sites.

It also does a basic scan of this forum, but I can't see a way to focus in depth on the storer sections. Once I can do this ... then i will!!!

Best wishes
Michael

Cool feature!
Your site is very big and sometimes very difficult to find the same stuff again. It's just a plus that it also search on this forum :)

Howdy Bjarne,

I have been finding it really useful too ... just to find stuff quickly when writing replies to people. Often I don't know what page things are on in some of the bigger threads. So now can find info on snotters very easily

The search points to my sites, biting midges sites, my flickr images (which includes rigging and building info for the PDRacer and GIS and even some strip planking info and historic boats.

I haven't found a way I can use it to pick up the articles I have written on the general PDRacer forum yet.

I have also jigged the ads that appear to talk about useful things like timber, plywood, epoxy, trailers and things like that.

I have put together an index for the Storerboats sub forum. It is divided into the different designs plus a general boatbuilding section.

Click here to see the index (http://boats-storerdesign.blogspot.com/2009/03/table-of-contents-for-michael-storer_31.html)

I tried to put it here but I could not get it to format in a list form.

Actually, I'll follow that up by being serious. Your site has a lot on it and it can be pretty hard to work out where you are and what you want. It's something that improves as you become familiar with the site. I think that a casual browser might be a bit overwhelmed and move on, but they weren't going to stay anyway. Whenever I've really wanted to find something, I've found it. Might I be right in suggesting that the scope of the site has outgrown what you originally envisioned?

Regardless of all the above, I enjoy digging around on your site, it's a great resource.

The growth has been very erm ... organic.

Actually am now looking at moving the site over to Wordpress which is a managing system with some automatic features for indexing and organisation.

I have installed it already, but I am really messing around right now as you can see ...

Have a look here www.storerboatplans.com/wp (http://www.storerboatplans.com/wp)

Wow ... just found I could import my three years of posts on my blogger blog onto the wordpress page.

COOOOL

still have to find a way to stop the posts from collapsing. The first post is collapsed so you can only see the first few lines.
