Has anyone used a diamond hone to sharpen router bits by hand?

If so, what type and grade did you use?
And more importantly, was it sucessful?

Thanks,

Glen

Glen,
I touch my router bits up with a diamond plate. I bought one of those cheap sets that has three different grades in a small blue pouch. I use the finest grade on my bits, it seems to work fine. Every so often I get them proffesionally sharpened, I do the samr with my TCT saw blades as well.

Hi Mick,

Thanks for that. I've seen that set in the Timbecon cattledog. I had a look in the local 'Home' hardware shop and they have the 'Eze-Lap' diamond hones. They range from $22 to $27 so I'll try to get one this week. I thought I might ask to see what grade for be best suited.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers,

Glen.
