Im 20 yrs old and i cant afford to go to trade school so i was wondering how i can get into the carpentry bussiness i have been looking apprenticeships and i really want to become a carpenter i live on long island new york and i would appreciate some help!

Hi Matt, you could try offering some time to builder free of charge, work experience, if you work well they might consider an apprenticeship. You might have to do it for a few builders untill you find the right one who will hopefully give you a go. Don't give up just keep on trying.Show them you are serious just keep going back. If one won't do ask if they know anyone who might give you a try.
You could also go to the builders suppliers and ask if they know if any builders are looking for workers. You might have to start as a laborer. Go go go!!! Good luck.
