Welcome aboard, :2tsup: all the more the merrier :U

I think we have bumped into one another on another forum, nice work. I especially like your bead work on the goblets and the natural edge bowl.

Hmm thats a serious looking lathe you have there, :photo3: not allot of them down under that I know of.

It's the spalted beech vase and the laburnum vase that have caught my eye as beautiful, although I recognise the skill and patience it must have taken to turn the walnut platter.

The use of the sapwood in the laburnum and the lovely figure of the spalting, in forms that highlight them, is a credit to you.

Very fine turnings, the spalted beech vase is an eye catcher, the goblets very neat.
What a lathe, just like Ed said, you can turn a bathtub on this lathe if you want :D
Cheers. Ad :2tsup:

welcome aboard Cornucopia

You have some very nice turnings there but I do not like the bead at the top of the goblet (just my taste) but I do like simple things to much fancy stuff and it's not for me (probably because I could not do it) I do like your laburnum vase how thin was the wall?
All in all very nice and welcome again.

Cornucopia, welcome to the forum! You do nice work, Sir. I like 'em all. Takes a steady hand to do those little beads.
Looks like you've got the lathe to do it with. :D
Again, welcome, and thanks for posting! :)

the bead at the top? oh you mean the lip rest :U i wasnt sure about it, but the original goblet was copied from a picture in an old book and that had one, then another turner saw them and the lip rest bead was born!!

the laburnum vase is about 2mm thick, it was turned about a week after the wood had been trimmed from a tree.

Welcome.

Very good work Conucopia very impressive pieces indeed. Love the form of the vase, and top marks for getting the wall thickness down :2tsup: Fortune favours the brave in this world.

When the world ends can I hide in your headstock? I might just have a chance.
