I read an article in "Fine Woodworking" (USA) Feb2000 re "Barbed Hinges" that fit into a slot cut into the timber rather than screwed down. The slot is made with a special cutter that looks like a small circular saw blade fitted to a bench drill. O nce the slot is cut the hinge just pushes in and the barbs hold it in place. Sounds like just the thing for snall boxes.
Has anyone seen these hinges in Oz? They are fairly cheap in the US (sub $US 2.00/pr) but as I am a Luddite who refuses to own a credit card I have a small problem ordering on the Internet.
