You might get a shock at the price - last time I was ringing around for injection moulding prices (which was quite some time ago) the price per part was cheap, but to get the mould made was in the region of $40k.

Are you sure you need injection moulding? Rotary moulding is cheaper to set up for, or you may find fabrication much more economical for a small run. There's also casting as an option for short runs, but it will depend on what you are trying to make.

Gaza, injection moulding ( if it's relatively simple) becomes cost effective at about 5000 units, as MS said, the unit price is inexpensive, it's the patterns , molds and set up that are going to cost you,
if this is not what you want there may be some alternatives,
more info would help.
