G,day I am starting woodwork and my first project is a freestanding bookshelf for my daughter, 1.6 metres high 900mm wide i used dowels to join shelves to the sides,well when i did a dry run putting it together fitted good then i glued and clamped it when it stands it is wonky side to side i mean how do i remedy this, i was thinking that putting a back on it might help

Brett, a plywood or Mdf (I didn't say that http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/smile.gif )back will definately stiffen it considerably.

Tounge&groove back would look great as well as stifening things up, just make sure what ever you put on goes on square....
