Being new to the woodturning world and a new proud owner (or I should say my arborist husband) of a Lucas mill I was hoping for assistance on a few matters....

Would there be any one in Australia esp. NSW who might be interested (or could refer me) to a wood turner that could turn some simple wooden garden tools for a new business I'm starting. I'm after 8-10 items, about 20 each. I have samples and cold fax drawings of a couple of them to anyone whos interested.

I'm esp. interested in having wood turned from Australian wood. We have good supplies of spotted gum and another red coloured euc hardwood. Can items be rough turned at approx 28% and would they continue to dry from there?
Also silky oak...21%. Does it always have to be turned at 12%.

Does anyone know of good classes around the Nowra area as we are interested in learning ourselves and buying a lathe?

Many thanks all, Jocelyn
