Anybody any idea who is the Aussie agent for Kirschen(Two cherries ) carving chisels? Or more importantly where they can be obtained. Just joined a wood carving group was told by instructor complete set would cost about $300. Just want to check I am not being ripped off!!
Any info greatly appreciated.

i think carba-tec sell kirschen chisels
but i would check out the difference between these and the pfiel chisels
i hear that the kirschen chisels have this wierd coating on them
you can pick up a starter set of pfiel chisels for around $150 - $160 (3chisels,1knife) and add on from there
and you can also pick up a good chisel roll while you are there
i must admit that i use pfiel chisels and love them
i would also like to point out that
i am noway connected to carba-tec or pfiel

happy carving
cheers

G'day !

The Woodworks at Meadowbank, Sydney does carry a comprehensive display of the Kirschen Chisels.

Otherwise, if you want to find your closest stockist of Kirschen Chisels to you you can contact Sieper & Co. (also in Sydney) on (02) 9748 0700.

RE: The "coating" on the chisels.

Each Kirschen Chisel is hand polished to a mirror finish and is then given a thin coat of lacquer to protect that finish.

If you would like any further information on Kirschen Chisels drop me an email at: [email protected].

Thanks
