Hi guys,

I picked this up but don't know what it is;

http://www.woodworkforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=83739

If someone can identify it I would know what I am dealing with and would be happy to swap for something. (it looks very green)

I suspect, and If I am right then you have something unusual, that you have some Queensland Kauri. ( Agathis robusta) Have a look at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agathis_robusta

You dont see much of this in Melb, so that is why I am surprised. If there are some banana benders who see a bit more of it on these forums, they would be able to confirm or deny it.

That's very interesting. The bark looks almost exactly the same, the leaves are very young and I suspect they were on suckers that shot after it was cut. That said, they do look very similar too.

I hope you're saving a piece for me Shannon :?, even though I don't have a clue what it is.
