I have slight problem with me planer/thicknesser.
The Carbatec CTJ-680 has 2 feed speeds, according to the manual (now I read it) the fast speed is for soft wood and the slow speed for hard woods.
Well I stuffed that up and have for sometime been feeding hard wood at the fast speed D'oh !!
Anyway the machine has really taken that abuse very well, that is until yesterday when the feed rollers stopped rolling in high gear, they will still feed on the slow speed though. :mad:
I'll have to strip the gear box down I guess, that’s no problem as I’ve often rebuilt car gear boxes and I think that in comparison this will be easy.
My question has anyone else been this daft and do they have any disassembly/assembly tips and what is part availability like. Obviously a call to Carbatec will find that out though.
