The bigger one is White Cedar, the smaller one is Raintree.

They are off to Ireland as Christmas pressys.

Look good to me , I assume that is a 12" ruler you are using for a guide:)

Tell ~Wheeling, they are very prosperous in Ireland these days, they have got supermarkets that sell salads packed in poly bags with a short sell buy date.:;

Love the grain in the white cedar bowl, but the finish on t'other looks a bit matte... just oiled?

Yup, just oiled 'cos they are meant for food.

The White Cedar did come up shinier that the Raintree but they are both nice to feel.
The ruler in front is a regular 12" (300mm) ruler, it is inch side up.

Very nice indeed Cliff. Great shape and rim thickness and excellent timber selection.

I have been far too busy lately for any lathe work at all, and have only glanced in here from time to time. Nice to see that you guys are maintaining your usual high standards of work. Hopefully I'll get a few days over Christmas to have a play.
