We have a couple of light stainless mushroom vents on our Folkboat but they're just too flimsy. I'd really like to get a couple of heavier grade ones that don't feel like I'll kick them into the sea every time I stub my toe on them. The ones we have are about 4" diameter. Second hand or new but good quality would be fine. Any ideas? Rick

Google might help.

Tried Google many times but haven't come up with anything. There was a company making them in the US but seems to have stopped. On the Twister we've just acquired are two beautiful mushroom vents - just what I would want for the Folkboat but they're staying where they are, of course! When I get back to Oz I'll take some pictures of them and put on the post. Someone may have some second hand or be able to advise where they can be found.

Try these guys (http://www.classicmarine.co.uk/prodtype.asp?prodtype=50&ph=cat) for some classy bronze ones. They cal them dome vents.
