SWMBO wanted new water feature on front verandah this is what resulted basically large black tub 200lt from bunnings which i then encased in merbau 90x20 decking on some scrap kd framing offcuts shes quite happy with result and cost me $41.00 for tub $50.00 for timber and 4.5 hours in the shed (although thats a bonus not a cost)

That looks great, I love ponds. Ours are a little more wild looking, and the frogs love them. Do be careful with toddlers if it is more than 20cm deep tho. You can put a mesh layer just under the water level which is barely seeable, but will make it safer.
