oops. Turning a laminated ring (400 dia) and Bang................Bits every where.
Now I have to do it all again. :C

Was it a segmented one David, had the same for a couple of years ago, but it was bad glued. I think I was not patience enough than. Luckely nothing hits me.

Can't. I am not going to pick up all the bits.
It split, hit the bed of the lathe and exploded. 400 mm Dia, 25mm thick 50mm rim, three laminates of 8 segments each.
Nothing left longer than 100mm.
Mock ships wheel, rim, for school function.
Cut and glued another together, Will turn tomorrow.

David how are you holding it to make sure it does not happen again.
We would hot melt glue these to a backing board turn as much as possible then take it of and then turn around and glue on again and finish of.

Another rim made.
Now to drill and mount inner spindles, hub and outer handles.:U
