Painting with Canvas on Canvas

I paint with acrylics. My grandmother has dealt with a lot of hardships in her life, losing my mother at a young age she lost a daughter about 5 years her first son passed away also at a young age. I have an idea of making a collage with my family’s pictures with my acrylic paints by making prints but I would like it to be 3D by using one large canvas and attaching smaller canvases to it with other memories while attaching other materials. Do you have any suggestions?
