Gidday I was asked to make a platter for communion so I found the nicest piece I had in stock. I love Camphor laurel in both smell and features. The plate is only 20cm at the moment we are only a small church so at the moment this is ample.
love to know your thoughts
bye Toni
These platters are growing on me this was so much fun photo of front and back.

Very Beautiful Toni,

The form looks like it should be very nice to handle as it gets passed around.

What's it finished with?

You're on to something good with the platters.
Your work has really improved.
I think your church group will be proud to have this piece.

CL is a beautiful timber, but yours certainly is one of the better pieces, that colour/grain is great :2tsup:

Hi Toni,
Mighty fine turning work on the communion platter, and your choice of wood is marvelous. :2tsup::2tsup:

My neighbour reckons they are going to thin out their huge camphor l. soon. It has some big boughs. I didn't realise it came up so well.

Excellent, Toni. Would it be sacrilege to put a wee maker's mark on the bottom? Nobody would turn it over with contents, would they?
