Hi,
I have been searching the Internet for several weeks now in the quest to find plans and construction ideas for sofas. In particular the older style with large rounded arm rests. I have found lots of companies that are willing to custom make to "your requirements" but I have been unable to find any plans. I would be very grateful if anyone could provide some assistance. Thankyou, Glen.

I dont think you will find plans for a sofa. But I may be wrong. In any case, you will need three sets of plans, 1:For the frame 2:For the foam 3:For the fabric.
I do a lot of work for an upholster who specialise's in custom made soft furnishings. I have seen his frames, and all are very well built, but also very basically done. The idea is for strength over visual appearance - cause it ain't ever going to be seen. And while they follow there own plans, there always little changes made in progress.
The whole process seems to look very simple - but then I am watching a pro at work!

I take it the style you are looking for is genoa? You may be better to find an old one and restore it. Up here in NQ they are not worth much once they get a bit run down. I picked up a full suite for $75 once. Amazingly the whole frame was made of Silky-oak!

Anyway, hopefully someone will come up with somthing for you!

Cheers & Welcome to the Board!

Gooday.

You can try this site. It does not have exact plans for the sofa you are looking for but, hey, woodies are adaptable.

Ther are other interesting things and plans on this site for those that like to browse.
