I had the same look a few weeks ago. The CT's have builtin wheels whereas the H&F has digital height gauge. I think each is about $100 or so, so add $100 to each to get those specs comparable.

H&F don't say 15amp and has 200mm capacity; both CT's show 15amp required. The CT deluxe, like the H&F, has the motor encased hence the tables rise and fall. There's some disadvantage in this in needing movable infeed/outfeed assistance, but supposedly there's less wear on the columns since they're not taking the entire motor weight.

H&F is 2yr warranty whereas CT is 5 yr.

$1150 vs $1649 = $500 difference. I'd get the H&F (and may yet - can I really justify it...)

AHHhh I probably can't get it, parents doesn't let me...:~ said that It's 1000 and you should buy some other woodwork stuff not this. Doesn't let me buy bandsaw too cuz they saw how they cut meat with the bandsaw in meatshops... Some how I can't spend the money I earned...Ristricted. Anyway are there any cheaper thicknesser in Melbourne that is tough enough to plane Aussie hardwood two to three times a months?

Also do you think that H&F will still continue the discount on the thicknesser after Christmas?

cheers
