Cutting Melamine

Is it possible to get a nice edge, that is no chipping, when cutting melamine at home? I have at my disposal a circular saw, router plus the jigsaw that my mate got for christmas. I'll probably build a router table before I start this next project. I'm putting in some cupboards in the laundry. I imagine I'll use melamine for simplicity with some nice timber doors.Also, what is involved in laminating (I'm very new at this). I plan to have a benchtop with the tub inlaid into it and was wondering how they are constructed. Would I be better off having a cabinet maker do that bit? Thanks.........

Hi Shaughn.
With the tools you have at hand, I would suggest that you use the circular saw & cut your panels over size & trim the excess with the router & edge with iron on edge stripping. Consider using matching timber veneered panel for the exterior panels to match the doors.
As for the bench top, you will probable find that it would be less expensive to have this made for you.
