This I built as a NY present for my mother, for mather-in-law and for my wife.

Small oak pieces (dimensions around 220 x 13 x 9 mm), with a hole in the middle and steel wire pulled through. Magnets are built into end pieces so that two or three stands can be combined into one large one. Only lightly oiled.

Really simple work - but lots of it (especially as I started with an 33 mm thich oak plank). Result is quite stunning, though. Nobody wanted to believe that they were built in my basement :)
