Looks lovely - Ern (rrser) will be very interested in this. Could we have a photo with something to "size" it by. Pen or business card or similar.

Great stuff.

Mapleman, I saw many vases, but yours is striking. With that I mean, the shape, the wallthickness and the wood you used for this magnificent vase.
You did a great job.:2tsup:
Keep em coming.

Looks really nice... is that the wall thickness all the way down or is it a straight bore with a thin top? (that is how I do my vases and then use a plastic insert)

The vase is 350mm high by 150mm square and is a straight bore with a thin top. Nice fiddleback:2tsup:

Thanks mapleman... with the thickness of the body, it gives it more stability

Cheers,

Very nice vase there. Nice simple lines lets the wood be the feature.http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon14.gif

Extremely nice fiddleback....bet some guitar makers are sore that they didn't get a hold of it!!

Vase shapes can be problematic, the proportions on this one are very good:2tsup:

Hi Mulgabill, the finish was done in Mirotone(semi-gloss).It really does highlight the grain, doesn't it!Regards Mapleman
