First things first, Hi, this is my first post.

I was hoping someone could give me some tips on how ot successfully glue up a panel. I'm gluing some up for a coffee table i'm working on and they are turning out quite uneven.

I was hoping for some advice on either how to get a flat surface on them after an unsuccessful glue-up. Or some advice on how to get it right in the first place.

Thanks in advance.

The commonist mistake is to have all the clamps below the panel. You need to alternate the clamps so that every second clamp is either above or below the panel.
There is debate as to how to arrange the boards but most would probably say growth rings up alternating with growth rings down.

Check that the panel is flat with a straight edge after clamping.

You can also clamp some wooden bars together that are placed above and below the panel and across the glued boards.

use the search facility and search for"making a flat top" by Wongo on 6/12/07.
Nice clear instructions with pictures to help. A great resource I always used to start with.
