I know absolutely nothing about turning, but I would suspect you would need one pretty huge lathe to be able to turn a pool cue in one go. Or would two piece work for you?

I think you will find that Blackwood may move after being turned and the cue would no longer be straight.

We can turn them.

IIRC segmenting them along their length into quarters reduces the movement after turning. Pretty sure that that is where the traditional light/dark pattern came from too. You might want to try and find someone who can build up the segmented turning for you if you can't do the jointing yourself. That would look pretty special.
