Oeistein 16th February 2009, 06:53 AM This is the smallest piece I have made in my Nova 3000 lathe. This vessel is 40 mm high and 24 mm in diameter, all segments are 2 mm thick and there is 240 of them. The woods is Norwegian Birch and African Padauk. The wall thickness is 2.5 mm.
This is a weekend project

I´m using a little artist spatula to put on the glue, a very thin strip on each side of the segment and a tweezer to put them on place.:D

Ad de Crom 16th February 2009, 08:04 PM Oeistein, I'm impressed. Thought your Norwegians turns only very big bowls, but I'm wrong. This has cost you a lot of patience and time to make all these tiny segments.
Anyway the endresult is gorgeous,
Great job. :2tsup:
