What do you people reckon is the best method of finishing a cabinet that is to be installed in a bathroom? The item is a vanity unit made from english oak, marble top. The item is in contact with a tiled floor and may be subjected to the occasional splash.? I think the main concern is where the legs contact the floor, end grain. I figure that will be where moisture will wick up into the piece and over time cause damage. Your thoughts?

Normal moisture should not be a problem, however, heavy use or
constant dampness can cause a problem.

You can seal the end grain with epoxy or put some spacers under
the cabinet.

Mine is ply and has been there for fifty years and has no problems.

There is a bead of caulk around the out side edge were it meets the
floor.
