At our Festool Workshop (Williamstown Victoria) we offer a number of courses and instructional sessions.

Woodworking Courses (http://www.idealtools.com.au/products.php?category_id=4090)

The courses are designed to build up your skills in furniture making and you finish the course with a completed piece of furniture.

We highly recommend the following courses for woodworkers will some experience, but wishing to increase their knowledge under instruction:

Building a Contemporary Hall Table - a medium size project improving your skills in basic furniture construction.
Building a Chair - a medium size project where the above learned skills are applied to the sometimes difficult process of building chairs.

And we recommend the following course for beginners:

Building a Cricket Table (round top / triangular base) - a small and less elaborate project focusing on construction with angles.

Our courses are conducted by Terry Fogarty, an experienced furniture maker and innovative woodworker. Terry holds a Diploma of Arts (Furniture Design) from the Australian School of Wood.

Tool Training and Information Sessions (http://www.idealtools.com.au/products.php?category_id=4090)

The tool training and information sessions are designed to teach you additional and advanced techniques you for various tools and processes. In many cases these are hands on instructional sessions.

If you own one of these tools or are thinking of acquiring one, these sessions will help you better understand and apply all the possibilities of the tool.

Many of these sessions are conducted by Terry Fogarty, with some conducted by guest demonstrators.

Very impressive.

I think u would shudder if u saw my TS-55 set up for cutting formply. The table consists of packers on the floor. But it works.

Hi Jatt.

Not at all - when we were setting up the workshop and creating various trim, we would lay the 5m Karrri lengths on the floor with 20mm battens underneath. Guide rail on and rip away. Obviously you have to be extra careful of setting the depth of cut. For example we were cutting on our newly laid timber floor and would not want to trash it by mistake. :- Nor would someone want to hit a concrete slab floor by mistake. :o

Using the floor and packers is a perfectly and practical way to use the TS55 IMHO. It is certainly great to have an MFT or multiple :U:U fixed end-to-end, but sometimes you go other ways.
