I'm mincing Ash today and while I've got the thicky out and running, I thought I'd enquire if anyone would like some Ash pen blanks before I wheel it back inside.

What dimensions are pen blanks anyway?

Is this the Ash from Saturdays auction? If so do you mind if I come around to have a gander?

John, this is the same Ash that I gave you some of the other day. I bought a few Elm boards at last Saturday's auction, but they don't arrive until this weekend. You're welcome to come round and see it once it's here and I'm sure I can rustle up another 'showbag' for you. :;

Can I come around too? Should take me about 4 days to drive there...

I'll be gone by then. :q

Let me know if you want some Ash or Elm pen blanks (or other sizes of off-cuts) and I can mail them to you.

Where are you going?

I'll leave you in peace this time, I won't have any money to post you down a bag until too late, by the sounds of it, and I have plenty of timber at the moment thanks to Bob, George and Andrew!

So - where ARE you going?

If you want some, just sing out. TBO has a stack of post bags here and I'll just help myself to one.

Hmmm, I haven't decided yet. :U

Thanks. Just PM me your address and I'll take care of the rest.

What's the collective name for a group of woodworkers? ... a cabinet!

Or, depending on their ability, a scrap pile?

Common Ash (Fraxinus excelsior (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraxinus_excelsior)) not Vic Ash!

My thicky is mounted on a mobile base so I can wheel it outside and make a mess outdoors. It's back in its corner now, but I'll be getting it out again early next week and will prepare a whole heap of Ash and Elm pen blanks then.

Just PM me your details and I'll add you to the list of recipients.

Didn't think it was vic but thought it would be wise to check - saves confusion

If you'd like to see what Ash looks like, here's a mallet (http://www.woodworkforums.com/showpost.php?p=924735&postcount=1) I made today.

Yes I would like some of those blanks. I cut mine to 17x17 or a bit more and 55mm long. You need two of those per pen. My address is Box 268 Kimba 5641 and I'll buy a few sets please and let me know of the costs involved. Regards Gerry Hofmann. Phone 08 86272187 or email [email protected]

I've packed a couple of dozen Ash pen blanks into postbags which will be posted tomorrow morning. I'll post the remainder when TBO gets me some more postbags. The Elm didn't materialise, so I'm afraid it's just the Ash for now. Sorry for the delay.
