I have modified the teal light previously posted here (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=92294) so that the base is the same diameter as the top, hope you like it. Also another tea light I turned this morning from spalted grey box. FYI Tealady, it is the grey box fron DJ's turnfest before xmas.

Oh! Nice. I'd forgotten about that wood. Green turning here I come.

(I'll still not sure about the form of the first tea light. Its nit picking, so It means we think its pretty b(*^% good, but the line of the form is still not right. The curve is not one smooth line. But they are pretty good anyway.:C )

Tea lady is right it appears to straighten out for the top bit instead of a constant curve all be it different radius.

I agree with TL.

Very nice, I might try one. What protects the wood from the candle heat? Looks loike it should be watched closely?

OK, OK. I'm not allowed (SWMBO) to start turning 'till after 9:00 A.M. Sixteen minutes to go and I'll have it fixed :D.

One further thought, John. Your original shape would have worked OK if it had risen to an arabesque, ie 'S', profile, as per left-side line in attached pic. But, without the spare wood at the top to do that, the only readily available fix for you was 's line on the right.

Oh yes! Do you use a drill to make the hole for the candle, or do you hollow it out?
