Did anyone see the schepparch drill press behind the carbatech stand at the Syd wws today ? looks pretty good - anyone know anything about it ? the price looked ok too... unless one of you talks me out of it it may be the next purchase. I like the idea of the bit being able to track out on the arm to further out to accomodate larger jobs - it looked like it could tilt a bit too. is this too many bells and whisltes ? I reckon for $400 its gotta be ok right ?

any opinions ?

cheers

Zed,

There was some discussion on this a while back .....

In summary I think ....

Confucius say .... the more things that move and jiggle .... the more the chance of out of alignment holes.

But Stinky says ... no idea, havent seen one.

Zed,

I second Stinky's thoughts.

Being in Melbourne, did not get a chance to pop into the Sydney show. However, assuming from your desc. that the Seppach is a radial head drill, this class of drill has had some bad publicity regarding head vibration, quill stability and problems with alignment.

There have been some published reviews done in the past (AWR?). Will try to dig it out.
