Hello,

I am interested in suggestions regarding where I could learn to properly sharpen plane & spokeshave blades and learn a bit more about the use of a hand plane. I know there are some very comprehensive woodworking classes, however, my interest is much more specific. I'm in Brisbane. any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks all. I have contacted Richard who offers a very comprehensive course, which certainly looked interesting. I'm after something much more modest. Richard mentioned there would be something on sharpening at the May woodworking show.

I'll look into Robert's course.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

I taught myself from the David Charlesworth DVDs on Plane Sharpening and Chisel Sharpening which I obtained through Lie Nielsen Australia. He is incredibly systematic and I found his method easy to use.

Charlesworth also has DVD's on using hand tools.
